Vernon Edsel Colaw, beloved husband and father, went to be with the Lord, February 11, 2006 at the age of 77. A native of Durbin, W. Va., he was a longtime resident of Richmond, Va. He is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Betty Fisher Colaw; two daughters, Karen Linkous and her husband, Bob, and Linda Colaw, all of Richmond; one sister, Mary Smith and her husband, Bill of Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, June Colaw and his wife, Kathleen, and Hayward Colaw of Durbin, W. Va.; and other relatives and friends. Mr. Colaw retired with 28 years of service from The Richmond Foundry. After retiring he enjoyed working for several years at Imperial Plaza. He was a member of Northminster Baptist Church for 34 years and was a faithful member of the Baraca Bible Class. The family will receive friends at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Avenue, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Dr. Samuel F. Williams Jr. officiating. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.
