Marian Irene Kidd Short, age 89 of Hurt died Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born January 28, 1933, in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Kidd and Lillie Mae Hall Kidd.
She was predeceased by a son, Elton Short, Jr.; a grandson, Michael Bibee; six brothers, Carter Kidd, Gilliam Kidd, Harrison Kidd, Willie Kidd, Edward Kidd, and Walter Kidd; and four sisters, Elizabeth Briles, Mary Compton, Janie Page, and Lillian Allen.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Gary Short, and wife, Jeanette of Gretna; five daughters, Edith Kidd of Altavista, Ann Cline of Hurt, Linda Hailey of Evington, Brenda Bibee and husband Clarence of Hurt, and Debra Short of Hurt; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Altavista Memorial Park by Randy Parker, Minister. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is assisting the family.
