Clara Eleanor Michalk was born June 24, 1909 in Thorndale, TX to Wendish descendants Marie Elizabeth Winkler-Michalk and Charles Wilhelm Michalk. She was the second youngest of eight children.
On Dec 23, 1933, Clara married Otto W. Urban (born Giddings, TX, 1908-1963) who reportedly is also of Wendish decent. So, their four children should be 100% Wendish (slavic minorities who migrated from the Lusatia region in Germany in the mid 1850s).
Clara died in Los Banos, California, but her ashes were taken to Eureka and she was buried at Ocean View Cemetery.
Clara and Otto had four children: Dorlie Ruth Fairbanks-Goodger (Oct 16, 1934 - Jun 30, 2021), Robert William (1935), Elnor C Ristow (Feb 1940), and Martha Eileen (Aug 1950).
