JAMES BYRON HADDOCK

July 20, 1935 ~ January 26, 2022 (age 86)


James "Pawpaw" Byron Haddock passed away peacefully on January 26th 2022, with his beloved wife Ida Mae Haddock by his side. James was born to Edgar and Mary Haddock of Dekalb, TX on July 20th, 1935.


James was a devoted and loving Christian, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great- great-grandfather. James was an avid gardener who loved being outdoors, especially running trot lines with friends and his grandkids.


James retired from the long-haul trucking industry in 1999 and spent the remainder of his life spending time with his family and working in his massive garden that helped feed the community his family resided in. James was a proud American who served in the United States Army and The United States Air Force for 8 years.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mary Haddock; sister, Alma Lee Walden; brother, Horace Crew Haddock; sister, Mattie Lou Brewer; sons, James David Haddock, William Lee Columbus and Michael Ray Columbus; daughters, Sharon Kay Summers and Carol Sue Nease.


James is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Haddock, sons, Carlos Edgar Haddock, Johnny Ray Columbus and Nicholas Columbus Jr; daughters, Malena Renee Lewis, Carla Ann Brummet and Patsy Columbus; his beloved Chihuahua, Pistol; as well as many other relatives and friends.


The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the funeral home.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK. Graveside services will follow at Avery Cemetery in Avery, TX.
