Lloyd's first job was working in local rice fields. Later, he joined the Merchant Marines. Eventually, he met and married Phyllis Hoots. They built a home in Murchinson, Texas. There, they raised their three children. Lloyd worked for Carrier Air Conditioning for many years, eventually retiring. After the death of his wife, he moved back to the Starks area.
To know Lloyd was to love him. He always had a smile and a cheerful outlook on life. He had a big heart and a loving and giving nature. He was loyal to friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Johnnie Willa Siau Johnson; wife, Phyllis Hoots Johnson; son, Jonathon Lloyd Johnson; two brothers, Clyde Memphis Johnson, John David Johnson and wife, Dolores Faye Gibson Johnson; two sisters and their spouses, Janice Linda Johnson Boggs and James Howard Boggs; Callie Hilda Johnson Smith and Arnold Lee Smith.
He is survived by step-daughter, Melissa Brooks and husband Brian; daughter, Ashley Nichole Johnson; Sister, Jo Allen Granger and husband, James F. Granger; brother, Caroll Elton Johnson, and wife, Helen Ruth Pevoto Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lloyd's final resting place will be the Miller Annex in Starks, Louisiana. A private funeral and graveside will be held.
