Born in 1937 to Carrie (Wentz) and Vernon Doxtator, Elsa was the youngest of 6 children. Elsa attended nursing school, then met her future husband, Victor Thomas (1937-2019), while dancing at the USO in 1956. They married later that same year, moving to the east coast of the US as they followed his career in the Navy. Elsa spent their 1st anniversary in hospital after giving birth to their daughter, 2 boys followed in subsequent years. While raising the kids Elsa started several different business including a card & gift shop, a real estate appraisal firm and a mortgage brokerage. Vic & Elsa loved to travel and did so as often as possible transitioning to cruising as they aged. Throughout their lives together they continued to dance.
