Snedeker, Joyce Johanna (Nee Doxtater ) Made Dad very happy by joining him in heaven on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Joyce was born on September 8, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to her parents, Vernon and Carrie Doxtater. She met her dance partner and soulmate, John, at the USO. She accepted his proposal on Valentine's Day and they were married on May 2, 1953. Joyce worked for the Federal Forest Service before taking a leave to be a stay at home mom to her three children. She instilled in them the belief of God and the importance of family. Although she was never able to attend college, she made sure that each of her children did. She was very proud of the fact that all her children were college graduates. After she retired from the Federal Forest Service, she cared for her grandchildren. To her, this was one of the things that gave her great joy. Along with Grandpa, she cared for her grandkids. She had a lot of patience and always had a lot of love to give. Shane, Samantha, Cassie, and Sophie were her pride and joy! They meant the world to her and she always spoiled them way too much because that's what Grandma's do. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband John, brothers Jack, Ted, and Tub, and sister Millie. She is survived by daughters Carrie (Gary) Konrath and Susan (Grant) Sedgwick and her son Steven (Stephanie). She also leaves behind her grandchildren Shane, Samantha, Cassie, and Sophie. She is survived by sister Elsa (Vic) Thomas and her loving nieces. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joyce's name to the USO are greatly appreciated.
