Jack Barton Rites Read Saturday

Jackson Woodrow Barton, 51, passed away at Parkview Hospital, Wednesday, January 15, 1969 after a lengthy illness.

He was born at Reed, Okla., March 7, 1917 the son of Mr. and Mrs. James William Barton. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Agnes Reynolds in 1941 at Shamrock.

Mr. Barton had been a car salesman and had lived in Mobeetie since 1930. He was a member of the Mobeetie Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Sylvia Barton of Mobeetie; four daughters: Mrs. Sandra Sue Edwards of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Sarah Jane Mason of Mobeetie and Sheila and Susan Barton of Mobeetie; four sons: Jackie Barton of Abilene, Jimmie of Amarillo and Ronnie and Rickie of Mobeetie; five sisters: Mrs. Opal Dixon of Bass, Mo., Mrs. Doris Townsend of Pampa, Mrs. Nelda Newman of Lubbock, Mrs. Janie Williams of Paris, Texas, Mrs. Barbara Joyce of Sunnyvale, Calif.; three brothers: Bennie of Abilene, Leon Barton of South El Monte, Calif., and James Barton, Jr. of Longview and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Funeral services were held in the Mobeetie Baptist Church Saturday, January 18 with Rev. Charles Uzzle of Follett officiating. Rev. Lewis Ellis and Rev. Roy Forbes of Mobeetie assisted.

Burial was in Mobeetie Cemetery under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.

Pall bearers were Cotton Ridgeway, Coy Bradstreet, Short Sechrist, Glenn Markham, Byron Simpson and S.B. Hooker.
