A native of Blount County, Mr. Tidwell had lived in Birmingham for a quarter-century and was an active member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are the widow, five daughters, Mrs. J.J. Hogue, Mrs. W.D. Lively, Mrs. R.L. Seaborn, Mrs. W.R. McKinney and Mrs. Harvey Batson, all of Birmingham; two sons, W.D. Tidwell, Atlanta, and Albert Tidwell, of Texas; five grandsons, J.B. Malley, Claude Lively, Richard Seaborn, J.D. Batson, Ercell Paden and W.C. Paden; a brother, G.S. Tidwell, and a sister, Mrs. James Yarbrough, both of Oneonta.
