Miss Annie Belle Cumpton, age 21 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Cumpton, of Rayville, died at her home on last Saturday night at 8:30 o'clock, followed an illness of only a few days with swamp fever. The funeral was held at the Horn cemetery, two miles south of Rayville, on Sunday afternoon.

She leaves to mourn her loss besides a father and mother, a number of sisters and brothers, and a large circle of friends.

It is always sad when one is cut down on the very threshold of life. This handsome young girl was just blossoming into womanhood when the grim reaper claimed her. It is difficult to understand death in youth, but we know God does for the best, and the fond parents may take consolation in the blessed promises of Him who gives and takes.

The Beacon-News extends sympathy to the bereaved parents, brothers and sisters and other members of the sorrowing family.
