Nina Lynn McDonald, 66, of Farmington, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2022. She was born June 17, 1956, in Lorain OH, a daughter of the late William D. McVaney and Maxine Greynolds McVaney McCann.
Nina married the love of her life, Harry L. (Buddy) McDonald on December 11, 1976. They were devoted to each other for 38 years until his death on August 10, 2015. Nina was a loving wife, mother, Yie-ya, sister, aunt, and friend. She was Christian by faith. She enjoyed life, loved to laugh and was the best storyteller. Throughout her life she worked several different jobs, the last being a manager at 7-11 store. For the past several years, she has been a homemaker and loved being able to spend time with her family. She was a member of the Marion County Bow Hunters, loved the outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, hunting, and enjoyed singing.
Survivors include her sons: Kris McDonald of Farmington, Dunner McDonald and his fiancé' Mindy Martin, Kodi McDonald and his girlfriend Amber George, all of Fairmont; a stepson: Brandon (BJ) Toothman and wife Emily of Erie, PA; a granddaughter: Kaylyn McDonald of Farmington; and a step grandson: Aiden Toothman of Erie, PA; sisters: Nancy Cochran of Mannington and Norma Devericks of Farmington; a brother: Dink McCann of Fairmont; sisters-in-law: Viki McVaney of Farmington and Patricia Harris of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, David McVaney.
A graveside service will be held on Monday at 12 p.m. at the IOOF Cemetery in Farmington.
