Harry Lawrence McDonald, 66, of Farmington, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 10, 2015. He was born April 1, 1949 in Pierce, the son of the late Lawrence and Thelma Propst McDonald. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nina McVaney McDonald, whom he married December 11, 1976. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, Uncle, and friend. He is Pentecostal by faith. He was a coal miner, having worked for over 30 years. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride his motorcycle and four wheelers in his younger days.

Harry held positions as President of the Marion County bow hunters. He was an avid shot in the Bow Competitions in the early 1980’s. He was also a member of the Union district 31. He loved making his family safe and secured his house nightly.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: BJ and wife Emily of Eerie, PA, Kris, Dunner, and Kodi McDonald all at home, a granddaughter: Kaylyn McDonald of Charleston, a grandson: Aiden Toothman of Eerie, PA, a niece whom he thought of as a daughter: Tina Boone McCann, one special (his baby) niece who he loved dearly: Thelma Raines Walston, a sister: Patricia Harris, a sister-in-laws: Nancy Cochran and Norma Devericks, a special brother-in-law: Dink McCann, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Gertrude Raines, Carol Gum, Judy McDonald, Etta Dumire, Josephine Wilson, Midge Raschella, and a brother: Bill McDonald who was killed in Viet Nam.

Friends may call at the Hutson funeral Home in Farmington on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Farmington. Online condolences may be accessed at www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com
