Maxine Luvernia McCann Mannington Maxine Luvernia McCann, 68, of Mannington, passed away Thursday (March 31, 2005) at her residence after a brief battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 24, 1937, at Big Mill Fall, a daughter of the late James and Nola Virginia Monroe Greynolds. Mrs. McCann was a homemaker who also worked as a caregiver to the elderly in the area. She loved to bowl and spend time with her family, especially her grandbabies. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Cochran of Mannington, Nina McDonald and her husband Buddy of Farmington, and Norma Devericks and her companion Harry Lahendro of Farmington; two sons, David McVaney and his wife Vicki, and James "Dink" McCann, all of Mannington; seven grandchildren, Tina McCann, Eric Cochran, Kris McDonald, Trina and Allen Devericks, and Michael and Megan McVaney; six great-grandchildren, Jacy and Jacob McCann, Leah Cochran, Kris "Dunner" and Kodi McDonald, and T.J. Devericks; with one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Mary Sabo of Worthington, and Mrs. Ed (Garnett) Mathias of Charlestown. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her second husband, Hazel McCann in 1975, and her life companion of 18 years, Thomas Zirkle in 1997; two brothers, James "Burchie" and Dorsey Greynolds; a son-in-law, Roger Devericks; and a brother-in-law, James Sabo. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today at the Hudson Funeral Home in Farmington. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with David Lester as Eulogist. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington
