OBITUARY: Freeda Snoberger
Freeda Lucille Snoberger, the daughter of Merton and Mary Elena (Hill) Jeffers, was born in Hamilton County, on October 6, 1913, and died at her home in Aurora, Nebraska on August 8, 1993, at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 3 days.
She grew up on a farm near Aurora, attended grade schools in Hamilton and Custer County, and graduated from Giltner High School in 1931.
On January 20, 1934, she was united in marriage to Donald Snoberger at Central City, Nebraska. They lived in Clay County for one year, and then farmed in Hamilton County until 1960, when they moved into Aurora.
Freeda worked at Jones Variety Store, Rich Variety, and Gambles, until her health forced her to retire.
She attended Prairie Gem E.U.B. Church, Lysinger Presbyterian, Aurora E.U.B., and at the time of her death was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church,
where she was active in women's groups and Dorcas Circle. She was also a member of the Lysinger and Happy Hour Extension Clubs.
As a devoted wife and mother, her main interests were her home and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Charles, Estyle, and Dean Jeffers; and 2 sisters, Vera Jacques, and Doris Blackburn. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Don of Aurora; 2 sons, Leon of San Diego, and Curtis of Lincoln. One daughter, Beth Knievel of State College, Pennsylvania. 4 sisters, Bernice Spahr of Loveland, Colorado, Naomi Jensen, Gladys Kirk and Marie Smith all of Aurora, and 5 grandchildren.
