CARL MAX RUSHTON (AK3 US NAVY), 98, was welcomed to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, TN. He was born on April 26, 1923, in Bloomington, IN, the son of Carl and Ruby (Ludlow) Rushton. Upon graduation from Bloomington High School, Carl married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Ramsey. He served in WWII with the United States Navy at Pearl Harbor and Midway Island, 1943-1946. He worked for Calderon Bros. Vending Co. in Indianapolis, IN, and moved to Memphis, TN upon retirement, later working as a driver for City Auto. He was a deacon for many years at the Indianapolis Baptist Temple, and an active member of Gateway Baptist Church in Memphis for over 20 years. Carl was heavily invested in the lives of his grandchildren and loved working on cars and physically working out (possibly one reason for his long life. J) Most of all, he loved Jesus, and rarely missed an opportunity to talk about Him. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Kathryn (Ramsey) Rushton, sons David Lee Rushton and Kenneth Wayne Rushton, grandson Jason Seitz, great-grandson Justin Michael Spicer, and five siblings: Geneva Sare, Harry Rushton, Juanita Porter, Richard Gene Rushton, and Margaret Markham. A committal service for Carl will be held Wednesday, January 19th from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene, Memphis, TN 38125. Rev.
