Dixie B. Holt, 87 of Edgewood and formerly of Delhi, Urbana and Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Monday morning, December 20, 2021, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Iowa.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa.
Interment: Hazleton (Fontana) Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa.

Dixie Bell Destival was born July 31, 1934, in rural Hazleton, Iowa, the daughter of Doras "Doc" and Rosa (Thurn) Destival. She graduated from Stanley High School in Stanley, Iowa. In 1951, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Holt. This union was blessed with three sons: Stanley, Roger and Marlon. They later divorced. Dixie was employed at Quaker Oats for 25 years. She enjoyed taking care of her cats: Jimmy and Joey and her dog: Kazaan. Dixie also enjoyed going out to eat and traveling.

Dixie is survived by her son: Stan (Angela) Holt of Delhi; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Patricia Holt of Harpers Ferry and Sharon Holt of Quasqueton; brother: Charles (Sondra) Destival of Charon, CT; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons: Roger Holt and Marlon Holt; significant other: Jim Elgas; and 2 sisters: Iris Sadler and Willa Burco.
