Born Dec. 14, 198, he was the son of Louis and Emma Destival. He received his education in the Hazleton schools. Nearly all his life was spent farming, the past 24 years on his farm south of Stanley.

Survivors include his widow, Rosa, three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Iris) Sadler of Boulder, Colo., Mrs. Dixie Holt of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Jerald (Willa) Burco of Independence, one son, Charles of Ridgefield, Conn.; nine grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Fern) Pagel of Lena, Wisc., and Mrs. Vivian Hillman of Hazleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
