"Funeral services will be held on Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hazleton Methodist Church for Rosa Elizabeth Destival, 68, who died at her home in rural Stanley on Jan. 27. The Rev. James Olsen will officiate. Burial will be in the Hazleton Cemetery.

Destival was born on Oct. 17,1908 in Clayton County, the daughter of Frank and Erma (Ross) Thurn. She married Doris (Doc) Destival in Independence, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Charles Destival, Bridgefield, Conn.; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Iris) Sadler, Boulder, Colo., Mrs. Dixie Holt, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Jerald (Willa) Burco, Independence: two brothers, Clarence and William Thurn, Edgewood; and one sister Mrs. Lowell (Lillie) Rowell, Edgewood."
