Kent Arthur Brown, 65 years of age, of Axtell, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born on October 17, 1956, in Oxford, the youngest of five children to Harold Brown, Jr. and Marjorie Gladys (Broeker) Brown. Kent received his education from Oxford Public Schools, where he was active in football, wrestling and track. He graduated with the class of 1975.

Kent then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska-School of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska. While there, he played catcher on the college baseball team. In 1977, he graduated with an Associated Degree in Production Ag.

On July 2, 1977, Kent was united in marriage to Linda Warneking at the United Methodist Church in Oxford. The couple was blessed with two children: Dustin and Rachel and the family made their home in Orleans, Nebraska. Kent was fortunate to work in agriculture his entire life. He was employed at the Argi COOP in Edison, Midland COOP (CPI) in Axtell, as a floater operator, and United Suppliers in Kearney, where he enjoyed cooking for tailgates at many home games. Most recently, Kent was employed at MRK Inc. in Lexington, Nebraska.

Kent loved agriculture and the labor of the land. He helped build the family feedlot when he was a young man, and later enjoyed working on the family farm and helping other area farmers with their harvest. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kent also loved sports, whether it was playing himself or watching his children and grandchildren. He was a Husker football, volleyball and baseball fan and also enjoyed following the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Dean Brown and his wife, Dorene; and Gary Brown; one sister, Mary Ellen Best and her husband, Donald "Bud"; one sister-in-law, Lynette Brown; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Mary Lou (Hare) Warneking; one brother-in-law, Timothy Warneking; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
