On July 17, 1965, he was united in marriage to Trudy "Louise" Fish and to this union, they were blessed with four sons: Todd, Michael, Kenneth, and Fred. The family made their home on a farm near Oxford, where Gary engaged in his lifelong passion of farming and ranching. This marriage later ended in divorce.
On November 20, 1989, he married Marcheen Dietz. With open arms, Gary welcomed her two sons, Brent and Brandon as his own, and the family continued to farm and raise cattle near Oxford. They later divorced.
Gary was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed wildlife, fishing, coyote hunting, but especially watching geese by the river. He enjoyed collecting all kinds of toy tractors. Gary participated in 4-H as a young man, and then continued that passion by helping his children take part in 4-H. Above all, Gary was a family man who loved spending time with his sons, and grandchildren and attending all of their activities.
Gary was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Dean Brown and his wife, Dorene; sister, Mary Ellen Best and her husband, Donald "Bud"; and a sister-in-law, Lynette Brown.
Gary leaves to mourn his passing; his sons: Todd Brown and his wife, Tina of Oxford; Michael Brown and his wife, Jeni of Elm Creek, Nebraska; Kenny Brown and his wife, Joan of Hastings, Nebraska; and Fred Brown and his wife, Casey of Loomis, Nebraska; two step-sons: Brent Tejcka and Brandon Tejcka; 11 grandchildren: Pete and Trevor Brown; Shelbi, Emme, and Ashley Brown; Kristopher Brown and his wife, Kaley; Taylor Schmalz; Austin Brown and his fiancé, Alexandria Roth; Chase, Rielly, and Kellan Brown; thee step-grandchildren: Calvin, Lee and Jennifer Greenleaf; two great-grandchildren: Klayton and Kortlyn; five step-great-grandchildren: Wesley; Ruby; Rayna; Robie; and Madisyn; two brothers: LeRoy Brown and his wife, Marsha of Prague, Nebraska; and Kent Brown and his wife, Linda of Axtell, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
