Burial will follow at the Judson Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home, Athens.
Mr. Gafford died Saturday at East Texas Medical Center Athens after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 18, 1899 in Cayuga, the son of Johnny and Margaret Gafford. He lived in the Cross Roads community since 1962. He had previously lived in the Cayuga community and was a retired teacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bula Gafford, on July 14, 1990.
Survivors include four sons, Troy Gafford, Belle Chase, La., Ervin Gafford, Malakoff, Lee Roy Gafford, Dallas, and Donald Gafford, Seagoville; three daughters, Jean Gafford, Mesquite, Ruthie Berry, Cross Roads and Maxine Stein, Mesquite; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Gafford, Alan Gafford, Roy Gafford, Alan Gafford, Roy Gafford, Paul Costlow, Larry Logan and Jesse Herrera
