Ruthie Lavonne Berry, age 84, of Palestine, Texas passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, in Palestine, Texas. She was born on August 6, 1937 in Cayuga, Texas to parents William and Bula Gafford. Graveside service will be held at 10AM on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Chinquapin Cemetery, in Athens, officiated by Darryl Conner, under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Ruthie enjoyed her bingo time with her three friends, lovingly referred to as the Golden Girls. She loved going to all the church activities whenever she could. Ruthie loved her family and friends, and she adored spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Gene Berry; parents, William and Bula Gafford; son, Tony Berry; and five older siblings.
Ruthie is survived by her daughter, Janice Brown and Michael; sister, Maxine Stein; grandchildren, Taylor Brown, and William Brown; as well as a great-granddaughter, Paisley Brown.
