Graveside services for Bonnie Jean Gafford, 87, of Gladewater will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the Judson Cemetery in Cayuga with Bro. Farrell Alexander and Bro. Luke Kimbley officiating. Interment will follow at Judson Cemetery. Ms. Gafford passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020, in Gilmer.

Bonnie Jean Gafford slipped into this world January 22, 1933 to Bill and Bulah Gafford. No big deal; Just another depression baby.

Jean was chosen by God to be a teacher and she relished the assignment. For 39 years she traveled the state of Texas looking for another group of children to love and teach.

Jean received her Bachelor’s degree in August of 1954 from North Texas State University and her Master’s degree in June of 1978 from East Texas State College. Not bad for a girl from the “Mud Hole”.

Jean has been eager for some time to get to the family reunion happening now in Heaven. Her Mother passed away in 1991, her Father in 1992, and her brothers, Ervin, Donald, Lee Roy and Troy Gafford a little later over the years. She thinks her brothers beat her to the reunion just for spite.

One sister Ruthie Berry survives her along with long-time friend Maxine Stein, sisters –in-law as well as nieces and nephews.

Don’t be too sad at her passing. Just come on up and they will pull up another chair. Jesus will be there so it should be a good time.
