He served in the US Army as a Tech 5 (Corporal) during WWII from 1943 until 1945 in the 3rd Army, 2nd Mechanized Cavalry.
Pahlke married Faye Sylvia Keteri in Houghton, Michigan on April 9, 1950; they raised two daughters in Fox River Grove.
Pahlke was a hard worker, employed from the time he was 17 – working as a residential home carpenter for 50 years. Restless in retirement, Pahlke worked another 19 years at True Value Hardware.
Corporal Pahlke passed away at his home in Fox River Grove on April 4, 2005, and rests in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
