Patricia Lee Carter, 83, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. Patricia was born September 16, 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Billy Gene Carter, mother Marjory C. Miles, sister Darlean Chesson, son-in-law, Brian "Bud" Kennedy, and her father, Lyle Johnson. Patty was a longtime member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Virginia Beach. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted herself to her family and church. Patty was young at heart, never lacked in conversation, she was always ready for an adventure, and never met a stranger. Through her life, she enjoyed decorating, doing ceramics, woodcrafts, cake decorating, antiquing, garage sales, and most of all, going out to eat with her friends and family.
Pattv was one of the first individuals to Open their homes to Regent Universitv for students to utilize for housing. It brought her great honor and joy to be able to help the local community. This opportunity gave her experiences that lasted her a lifetime by allowing her to meet individuals from all over the world. Patty gave them a true home away from home.
She was very proud of her 3 daughters, Gayle Kennedy (Bud), Kathy Jimerson (Gary), and Lynda Duke (Wayne). Patty also had 7 grandchildren and soon-to-be, 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Waymon Carter, many nieces and nephews, cousins and her 3 beloved fur babies, Prissy, Missy-Blue, and Candy.
Her family is so thankful for the 83 years that they had with her, and she will be missed greatly. A visitation for Patricia will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck, Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462
A celebration of life will occur Saturday, November 27, 2021, 2:00 PM at Calvary Assembly of God, 4925 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464
