Marjory Caudill Miles
May 9, 1923 – February 23, 2020

Marjory Caudill Miles, otherwise known as "Granny," was born on May, 9th 1923 and returned to her heavenly home on February, 23rd, 2020 surrounded by family in her Virginia Beach home after battling dementia for several years.

With the support of her family and her firm belief in God gave her peace and comfort towards the end of her life. Marjory was born to the late Mable Richards. She was a homemaker and hotel owner from Roanoke, VA.

In Norfolk, VA, she ran Miles' Tourist Home, then moved to Virginia Beach for the remainder of her life; Marjory was the type of person to provide a home away from home to anyone in need. In her youth, she loved to dance and won many competitions doing so. Later in her life, she became a light to those who met her as she was immersed in the Christian Community; her faith in The Lord became what she was known for and she was not ashamed to share the Gospel! Marjory is one of the main reasons that many of her family members are believers in Christ today. She loved The Lord with all of her heart and served Him to the very end. She was the woman on her face in prayer for her family and when people went through hardships and felt hopeless, she was there to remind them that Jesus was their hope. Marjory may have been soft-spoken, but she had a giant voice for her Savior.

Marjory is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Carter as well as her five grandchildren, Gayle Kennedy, Lynda Duke, Kathy Jimerson, Charles Chesson II, and Vickie Mackey (spouses). She has thirteen great-grandchildren (spouses) and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren (spouses) with two more on the way as well as beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Klug; daughter, Darlean Chesson; son-in-law, Rev. Billy Carter; and great-grandson, Jonathan Victor Mackey. Marjory's legacy of faith will continue to grow, through the generations of her own children and all of those whose lives were impacted by the work that Jesus did in her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Marjory on Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at Calvary Assembly of God, 4925 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, VA, 23464 at 4 pm. Please come and share memories with us of Marjory's life!
