Christine Hargrave was the daughter of Benjamin Hargrave [1741] and Rebecca Gourtnay [1740] Christine Hargrave married Charles Hanks Feb. 1, 1798, Attakapas Post now St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, La.

Attakapas Post was founded on the Banks of the Bayou Teche. Napoleon sold Louisiana in 1803 to the United States though the Louisiana Purchase. The Organization of the Attakapas Territory took place between 1807 and 1868 Culminating in the Creation of St. Martin Parish Attakapas Post was named St. Martinville.
