It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rolande Hague (née Durand) at the Foyer Notre Dame on Saturday, September 18, 2021. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Rolande was predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd (2006); her parents, Joseph Durand (1986) and Alice Arcand (1953), her stepmother Marie-Jeanne Jean (1991); her sisters, France (1942), Marie-Josephe (2018) and Ange-Aimée (2014); her brothers, Denis (2016), Guy (2007) and Henri (2017); her sister-in-law Angeline Simoens (2011); her stepchildren, Floyd Wiebe and Val McCaffrey.

She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 14 years, Abe Wiebe; her children, Shirley (Arthur Delaquis), Denis (Lucille Delaquis), Reynold (Edith Bernard) and Darlene (Michael Carels); her brother André (Jeannette) Durand; her sisters-in-law, Diane Durand and Thérèse Durand; her brothers-in-law, Denis Lecoq and Gerry Simoens; her stepchildren Holly Kolevris (Bob Chapiel), Karen Wiebe and Lawrie McCaffrey.

She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren whom she adored tremendously, Jeremy (Rina), Mélanie, Natasha (Rob), Mélissa, Sean, Patrick (Lindsay), Janelle (Matt), Danica (Daniel), Kristel (Stéfan), Thomas, Tiffany (Blair), Mackenzie (Maxine). She will also be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren, Elliotte, Camilla, Maxime, Paige, Jessica, Brooks, Kaylee, Zev, Ozzi, Jamie, Mila, Nova, Boe, Cole, Emmalyn, Easton, Zoey, Sienna, Reed, Ethan, Jayden, Adèle and Maëlle.

Along with her own beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she leaves to cherish her memory Abe's many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly as her own.

Rolande was a wonderful wife and mother. There was nothing she would not do to please her family. You knew when you visited you were going to be very well fed. She could whip up a meal with not a minute's notice and her freezer was always full of delicious baking.

At Christmas, she went all out with her meals. It was a tradition to have a full course turkey meal after midnight mass. We would go to sleep with tummy aches from eating far too much delicious food. The house was full of people, not to mention gifts. She spoiled the kids with so many gifts you could barely walk in the living room!

Rolande was also a very hard worker. Her house was always spic and span, you could not find a spec of dust in her house. In the summer, she would cut her lawn with a push mower, not a tractor because that did not do a good job! She would run while she pushed that mower.

She enjoyed gardening and always had lots to share with friends and family. Not only did she work hard at home, she also worked hard at her job at the foyer. She worked many years managing multiple departments. Not surprisingly, there was not a spec of dust at the foyer neither! She was very devoted to her work and her family was proud of her achievements.

The family would like to thank the staff from the foyer and the doctors who have taken such great care of our mom. We are so very touched by your compassion and sympathy. Thank you for your kind words and hugs when they were needed. Bless you all.

The Funeral Mass will be held in the Notre Dame Catholic Church on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a video presentation and eulogy prior to the funeral at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Notre Dame Health Foundation, Box 190, Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB R0G 1M0.
