Linda Kay Vines Harris, 67, of League City, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Friendswood, Texas.
She was born September 6, 1954 in Winnfield, Louisiana to Henry Vines, Sr. and Jewel Franks Vines.
She was the first in her family to complete a college education to pursue her love for teaching. Linda spent nearly 40 years teaching and retired from Clear Creek ISD. Most of her teaching career was spent in Special Education where she truly loved each and every one of her students. If she wasn't teaching, she was serving the Lord in her church whether it be singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school or most recently working in the church office part time.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jewel Vines; sisters, Beatrice Gorham and Naomi Wright. She is survived by her daughter, Rachael Arden; granddaughter, Shayla Kisskatt; great grandson, Maxwell; sister, Florence Sullivan; brother, Henry Vines, Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 10:30am to 11:00am in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home Winnfield, 202 E. Lafayette St., Winnfield, LA 71483. Linda's funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Rayford Chandler and Rev. George Ross officiating. Interment will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Winnfield, LA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Texas Avenue Baptist Church, 320 Texas Ave., League City, TX 77573.
The visitation will be from 5:00pm to 6:00pm with the Celebration of Life Service following at 6:00pm.
