THE KOKOMO TRIBUNE (Kokomo, Indiana) - Fri - 27 May 1932
"Delta Thomas Dies: Heart Attack Proves Fatal to Well-Known Carpenter Early Friday"
Delta Austin Thomas, age nearly 47, died suddenly at his home shortly after midnight Friday morning, following an attack of heart trouble. He was found dead in his bed shortly after bidding his family good night.
Stricken only Thursday afternoon with this malady, he reported before retiring that he felt much better and told Willis Dye, his employer, that he would be on the job in the morning. Shortly after retiring, he asked that his door be closed so that he might get a good sleep.
The deceased was born in Scircleville and spent most of his life in the Forest and Russiaville vicinity. He came to Kokomo three years ago, and since then has been employed as a shop man at the Dye Lumber company. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Thomas.
The survivors include, besides the widow Leone, a daughter, Mrs. Opal V. Longfellow, and granddaughter, Myrna Longfellow; four brothers, Edward of Russiaville, Jesse of Indianapolis, and Lee and Arthur of Kempton; and two sisters, Mrs. Mac Henderson of Elwood and Mrs Hazel Dick of Kokomo.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Russiaville Christian church of which he was a member. The Rev. Mr. Shaw will conduct the service, and interment will be in the Russiaville cemetery. Kokomo friends wishing to pay their respects may call at the home after 9:30 Saturday morning.
