1944 ~ 2021
Rick was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and grew up there with his family until leaving to serve in the Navy (1961-1964). He settled in Alturas, California where he went on a blind date and met his loving wife, Jacquie (married in April 1977). He worked as a boilerman while raising their family and then later as a contract mail carrier until they relocated to Brookings, Oregon.

Rick will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, practical joker, storyteller, fisherman and avid hunter, painter, swimmer, dancer, speed-reading and US Navy veteran. Many meals were followed by the tall tales that brought snickers and tears with all the laughter.

He passed in peace at the age of 77 at home with Jacquie.

He is survived by Jacquie and his children Shawn (Vermeda), Jeanine (Chuck) and Charleyn (Chad), Frances, and Clint (Amanda). He is the proud grandfather of Brandon, Nicholas, Levi, Garrett and Emmett.

He is further survived by brothers Brent (Debbie), Kevin (Jeannie) and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Gladys, brothers Gary (Stephanie) and Ricky and daughter Tracey.
