Laura Mae Zost, 83, of Hemet, Calif., for the past six years, formerly of Galesburg, died Thursday, July 29, 1993, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Hemet.

Born April 20, 1910, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to John and Bertha Kirkland Baker, she married Harold Zost on Aug. 9, 1931, in Fort Morgan, Colo. He died May 12, 1986. One sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Clinton of Galesburg; three daughters, Suzie Zost of Hemet, and Mrs. Raymond (Charlotte) Tachoir and Judy Birdlebough, both of Charles Town, W.Va.; one brother, Charles of Ottumwa; and one sister, Mary Louise Hummell of Bettendorf, Iowa.

She was a telephone operator in Ottumwa.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
