Ottumwa--Charles E. "Bud" Baker, 83, of 1135 E. Division St. died at 10:10 a.m. Aug. 9, 1995, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born Dec. 13, 1911, in Ottumwa to John and Bertha Kirkland Baker. He married Gladys Esther McCutchen on Sept. 23, 1940,in Lancaster, Mo.
He was a member of American Legion and did carpentry work. He retired as manager of Iowa State Liquor Store in Ottumwa.
He is survived by his wife and sister, Mary Louise Hummel of Bettendorf.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Curtis and Laura Mae Zost.
The body has been cremated and the cremains will be buried in Shaul Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
