Garth Mower Christiansen, 76, of Springville, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Utah Valley Hospital. He was born March 12, 1945 to Garth Cook Christiansen and Dora Agnes Mower in Fairview, Utah. His mother was living with her parents at the time of Chris' birth as his father was serving in the Army in Okinawa, Japan. Chris has always been very proud of his father's service during the war and that on his birth certificate his father's occupation was listed as a soldier.

He married Echo Varney, on April 12, 1967, which was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. After Echo's death, he married Deanna Boren Sanchez which ended in divorce. He married Jean Ann Biggs, on Nov. 10, 2006.

He loved the mountains especially American Fork Canyon and Hobble Creek Canyon and loved to go for long walks and to see the animals. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his favorite position was to be a teacher in the Primary. He loved working with the children and also the young people. He worked for Rylee Industries for several years until the plant closed. After retiring from Rylee he went to work at BYU as a physical facilities supervisor. He supervised the students in keeping Kimball Tower clean. All the students he worked with were very special to him. What was to be only a few years lasted more than 10 years.

Chris is preceded in death by his wife, Echo, and his daughter Jennifer, his mother & father, sister Jolynn Colyer, sister Edna Haley and brother-in-law Richard Long.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann, daughters: Kim Devey and Elizabeth (Shadrick) Howard, Stepchildren: Sharon (Greg) Peay, Larry (Carrie) Biggs, Darryl (Kris Ann) Biggs, Lisa Wilson, Lori (Dave) Waters, Randy (Janelle) Biggs, Emily, (Ryan) MacPherson, Bryan (Becca) Biggs, 36 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren; brothers: Gail (Elaine) Christiansen, Pete (Sheri) Christiansen, brother-in-law Earl Colyer, sisters: Barbara Long, Wendy (Marion) Turley.
