Daniel Walter Alexander, 83, of 804 Dunklin Bridge Road, husband of Dora Lee Epps Alexander, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Center.

Born in Moore, he was a son of the late Frank Arthur and Rosa Bell Griffith Alexander. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was retired from Union Bleachery and was a member of Pelzer Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are his wife, of the home; a son, Frank Alexander, of Fountain Inn; a sister, Estelle McCoy, of Greenville; a brother, Fred Alexander, of Greer; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons, Dan Alexander and Lamar Alexander.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gray Mortuary Chapel in Pelzer, conducted by the Rev. T.C. Chiles and the Rev. Ray Lewis. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of Frank Alexander, 808 Dunklin Bridge Road, Fountain Inn; and will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
