Minetta (Miller) Carpenter, 88, long time Roosevelt resident, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in the Elkview General Hospital in Hobart. She was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Cooperton to John Henry and Edith (Mendenhall) Miller. Minetta grew up in the Cooperton area and graduated from Cooperton High School. She married James Carpenter on June 12, 1937, in Cooperton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1999. She was a cook for the Roosevelt School for many years. Minetta moved to Hobart in May 2007.

Survivors include her son and wife, Carl and Barbara Carpenter of Snyder; one grandson and wife, Greg and Julie Carpenter of Altus; two great-grandsons, Tanner and Tyler of Altus; and one brother and wife, Alfred Miller and Velma of Hobart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; three brothers, Marvin, Harold and Glen Miller; and two sisters, Nadine and Velma.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday at the Roosevelt Cemetery officiated by Ron Suiter of Snyder.

Burial will follow in the Roosevelt Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart.
