Mary Jane Rush, 96, of Wanatah, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021. She was born March 7, 1925, in East Chicago, IN, to the late John and Mary (Firszt) Kutkiewicz. Mary retired from the Anderson Company and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wanatah.
On September 23, 1944, in Valparaiso, Mary married Raymond E. Rush, who preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Havens; son, James Rush; son-in-law, Larry Havens; one brother, and five sisters.
She is survived by her six grandchildren: Annette Vick, Steve Napierala, Marilyn Latson, Ted (Kristi) Napierala, Karen (Michael) Edgell, and Kevin (Krystalin) Rush; ten great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Rush-Blohm.
Following cremation, a private burial of ashes will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Monday, October 11, 2021, in Wanatah. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to make a donation to an animal shelter.
