SPRING GROVE Ruth L. (Kessler) Stambaugh, 80, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, in North Codorus Township. She was the wife of John A. Stambaugh, who preceded her in death in 1967. The funeral service will be held in thanksgiving for Ruth's life at 10 a.m. on Friday at Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with her interim pastor, the Rev. Aris Focas, officiating. Viewing will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Peter's (Lischey's) Church Cemetery, Spring Grove. Ruth was born February 27, 1927, in North Codorus Twp., a daughter of the late Ivan E. and Stella V. (Senft) Kessler She retired from the P.H. Glatfelter Company following 45 years of loyal employment as a finisher and sorter. Ruth was a member of the mill Quarter Century Club. She was a faithful member of St. Peter's (Lischey's) United Church of Christ in Spring Grove, where she frequently helped in the kitchen with the "Ladies of Lischey's" kitchen crew. Ruth will be sadly missed by her two sisters, Florence M. Fleming and Maryann Beaver, and her brother, Clair W. Kessler, all of Spring Grove; seven nephews; and four nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan C. Kessler in 2006; and one nephew.
