Peggy Walker, age 90, died on September 13, 2021 at Methodist Hospital-Germantown surrounded by family.
She was born on January 2, 1931, in Charleston, MO to Pearl and Ernest Moxley and was one of 9 children.
She graduated from Charleston High School, where she met her husband of 48 years, Bob Walker.
Bob and Peggy married on February 14, 1949 in Cheyenne, Wyoming shortly after Bob entered the Air Force. They had 8 children, consisting of 3 boys and 5 girls.
Caring for her family was Peggy's life vocation, and she devoted herself fully to them. She has also been very active in her faith, serving her church and her community wherever she was able. She read her Bible daily and prayed for others fervently.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Bob and their oldest son, Steve.
She leaves behind a large family, including 7 children, Donna McCarty (Donald), Marty Walker (KC), Tina Gibson, Susan Ashmore (Kevin), Jodi Walker, Bobby Walker and Allyson Ashmore (Darren). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson on the way.
A gathering for Peggy's family and friends will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
A committal service will occur Friday, September 17, 2021 beginning around 1:30 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 300 State Highway N, Charleston, MO.
