Norma F. Cox, 92, of Columbus, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.
Norma was born June 17, 1929, in Knox County, Indiana, the daughter of Wilsie and Della Allman Baker. On August 20, 1948, she married Alva H. Cox.
Mrs. Cox worked Saps Bakery before her retirement. She then became a nanny for three families. Her latest nanny job was for John and Cindy Lane, caring for their three daughters. Norma was one of fourteen children. She was a member of Brown's Corner Chapel where she attended services with her sister, Ethel Stolle.
Survivors include her children, Beverly (Pete) Grimm, Ronald (Hannah) Cox, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Tracey (Tracy Ballard) Hazzard, Christopher (Jessica) Cox, Al (Kathy) Grimm; great-grandchildren, Kristin (Dylan Cowan) Grimm, Kyle (Makenzie) Grimm, Lauren (Justin) Hurd; great-great grandchildren, Walker Cowan and Harper Dewees; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alva; grandson, Tony Cox; six brothers and seven sisters.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with John Hundley officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at barkesweaverglick.com. Burial will be at New Bellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American heart Association.
