At 8:30 o'clock Sunday evening occurred the death of George W. Runyon, one of Boone county's oldest residents, at his home on West Fourth street. Although ill for some time his death was unexpected.
Mr. Runyon was born in Ohio February 12, 1826, being 75 years of age at the time of his death. He came to Boone county in 1860. In 1854 he was married to Miss Garner and raised a family of twelve children, some of whom are dead. Those living are: Mrs. Emma Caldwell of Yell township; John and A.M. Runyon of Boone; Mrs. Dora Caldwell of Berkley; Garner Runyon Incline; Mrs. Eva Bentley Boonsboro and Andrew Runyon of South Dakota.
The funeral was held Tuesday at 2 o'clock p.m. from the Incline school house, Rev. Labson officiating. The G.A.R. of which Mr. Runyon was a member attended in a body. The remains were entered in Bluff Creek cemetery.
The Democrat extends its sympathy to the bereaved family.
