Renay Gilmore, age 58 of Pennington, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at CHI St. Luke's in Lufkin. Renay was born February 28, 1963 in Crockett to parents, James Ray Gilmore and Jackie Minter Gilmore. He was a 1981 graduate of Channelview High School and worked in logging for Prime Acres for 12 years. Renay loved farming and ranching and especially loved all of his family. Renay is survived by wife, Edie Gilmore of Pennington; son, James Renay Gilmore, Jr. and wife, Chattary of Dayton; children, Amanda Henley and husband, David of Pennington, Dan Holmes of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Rance, Fallon, and Reid Gilmore of Dayton, Lent Reynolds and wife, Haegen of Livingston, Kaci Henley of Pennington, Quentin, Hallie Jo and Hayden Holmes of Corpus Christi; great-grandchildren, Holden and Ryder Reynolds, Kacedon Dearmen; brothers, Darrell Gilmore and wife, Beverly of Crockett, Keith Gilmore and wife, Susan of Pennington. He was preceded in death by parents, James Ray Gilmore and Jackie Minter Gilmore. Funeral services for Renay Gilmore will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at the Pennington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home .
