Native of Mecklenburg, Germany, Mr. Eggers grew to manhood there then came to the United States, where he married Augusta Stender in 1883. He engaged in farming in the vicinity of Shelby, Iowa until about 1922 when he retired and moved to Avoca. Funeral services for William Frederick Eggerss, 81 a retired farmer will be held Thursday at the First Lutheran Church. Internment will be at Shelby, Iowa. He was preceded in death by son John Frederick-Eggerss. Surviving him are his widow, two daughters: Mrs. Mary Thomsen of Logan, Mrs Caroline Preuss of Shelby, five sons: William, Carl and Paul of Avoca, Fred of Logan and Herman of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
