His first marriage was on 21 Jul 1829 in Augusta Co., VA, to Elizabeth GREGORY, daughter of Samuel GREGORY and Rachel HAWK.
The children by this marriage were:
James R. REDIFER b. abt 1834; Elizabeth M. REDIFER (STRICKLE) b. abt 1835; William REDIFER b. abt 1840; John Namon REDIFER b. 1842; Margaret Anne REDIFER (RECTOR) b. 1844; and Alexander REDIFER b. abt 1846.
