Benny Allen Stutesman, age 63, of Oblong, IL passed away at 4:29 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL with his wife by his side. He was born May 21, 1958 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Robert Lee Stutesman and Viola Mae Zurfluh Stutesman. On March 6, 1989 he married Cathy Jo Hollingsworth at Island Grove Baptist Church in rural Martinsville, IL.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years Cathy Hollingsworth Stutesman of Oblong, IL; son, Brian Allen Stutesman of Oblong, IL; brothers, Ronald E. Stutesman and wife Rebecca Ring Stutesman of Casey, IL and Robert E. "Bobby" Stutesman and wife Melinda Durnal Stutesman of Casey, IL; uncle, Walter Zurfluh of Pasadena, CA; many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, cousins, his Church family and many friends. He was known as Uncle Benny to many and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Adolph and Lena Ryser Zurfluh and Everett and Rosa Clapp Stutesman; his parents, Bob and Viola Stutesman; uncles, Don Stutesman and Larry Zurfluh and aunts, Florence Smith and Marie Else.

Benny was a 1976 graduate of Casey High School. He was a tow truck operator and was the happiest when he was out helping people when they were broken down. He loved talking to people and collecting stories. Benny and his brothers worked side by side with their father in the family business Stutesman's Garage, Auto Salvage and Towing. Benny and Cathy were faithful members of the Island Grove Baptist Church as well as being active in several organizations; Benny was currently serving as Church secretary. He was a member of the Ainad Shrine Temple, Casey Masonic Lodge #442, Clark County Shrine Club, Consistory MSA of Valley of Danville Scottish Rite and Past Worthy Patron of Areta Chapter #79 Order of the Eastern Star.

Burial will follow in Island Grove Cemetery, rural Martinsville, IL.
