Manuel "Manny" Antonio Diaz, 53, of Elizabethtown, KY, died Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was born at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan, NY. Manny lived in New York city until 19 where he went to high school at Franklin K. Lane in Brooklyn, he then moved to south Florida, where he attended 2 years of community college. Manny has also lived in Puerto Rico (his father's home country) as well as in Ecuador (his mother's home country). His passion for music led him eventually into being a DJ, which included for several years traveling to other countries with an Entertainment Company being a DJ. He continued his love of music his entire life. Among other jobs, as well as owning businesses, his most recent position was with with IMI/ Irving Materials Inc. in Elizabethtown, KY. Manny was that person you could always count on. Always the life of the party and was the ray of light in any room. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you were loved and you knew it.
He was preceded in death by his father, Angel Manuel Diaz; a brother, Luis Rafael Diaz Ortiz; His grandmother, Roxanna Martinez; a niece, Yulisa Rivera; and a brother-in-law, Tonito Rivera.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Barclay of Elizabethtown, KY; two daughters, Kara Hill-Combs (Chris) and Kali Beach (Gabriel); six grandchildren, Chloe, Tessa, Brooklynn, Josie, Jaxon and Jaci; a great grandchild, Ryker Johnston; mother, Gardenia Diaz; six sibling, Giovanni (Katherine) Diaz, Genevieva Diaz, Angel Manuel Diaz Ortiz (Carlos), Irma Iris Diaz-Ortiz, Maria Del Carmen Diaz Ortiz, and Sandra Iris Diaz Ortiz (Gustavo); six nephews, Eddie Samuel Rivera Diaz (Diamara), Rafael Angel Rivera Diaz (Shaira), Urayoan Rivera Diaz, Irmaris Rivera Diaz, Jose Ramon Rodriguez Diaz (Juan), and Nestor Jose Gonzalez Diaz (Paola); two nieces, Jennifer Rodriguez Diaz and Genie Garcia; a great nephew, Angel; and a great niece, Valentina;
A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff, KY.
A time of gathering will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
