Mabel Skaggs
At the age of 64.
Mabel Skaggs of Armona died Saturday in a local hospital. A native of Piggott. Ark., she had lived in Kings County for 38 years and was employed by Superior Dairy for 19 years prior to her retirement.
She is survived by nine sons; Mack and Art of Arcata, Paul of Scotia, Claude of Riverside, Talmadge and Randy of Lemoore, Frank of Seattle and Jefferson and Bill of Hanford; six daughters; Velva Thompson of Missouri, Ora Vanegas of Oregon. Ella Faye Clark of Sanger, Juanita Keeling of Bakersfield, Jearl Dean Black of Dravton Plains, Mich., and Sarah Crane, of Taft : two sisters, Ellen Baker of Arrovo Grande and Gladys McDonald of Hazel Park. Mich; 46 grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children. Services were held in the People's Funeral Chapel Wednesday and burial following in the Grangeville Cemetery.

Mabel married James Mose Toombs, on 8 September 1926 and divorced on 15 October 1930.
She then married James Garfield Skaggs on 24 November 1931. He raised her two children as his own, and they took his surname.
