Dwight Eugene Shelley of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 17, 2021. Dwight was born December 15, 1941, in Mount Pleasant, Utah.

He was the middle of 5 children born to Hyrum Vernile Shelley and Vera Myrtle Stone.

He attended North Sanpete High School, where he met his lifelong sweetheart and wife, Betty. They were married on October 7, 1960, and later sealed in the Salt Lake City temple. Nine years later, they welcomed David to their family and Daniel 18 months later. They raised their family in Springville, Utah, and moved to Spanish Fork in 2017.

In 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army, and served in Viet Nam, where he drove a dump truck. He received an honorable discharge.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many callings throughout the years. He found his greatest joy with his family.

Dwight is survived by his sons, David (Rebecca) and Daniel (Amy); sisters, Marilyn and Gwen; and sisters-in-law, Wilma and Karen.

He loved his 7 grand children and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brother, Norman; and sister, Janet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Spanish Trails Ward, 452 W. 550 S., Spanish Fork, UT.

There will be a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services.

Interment will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
