Born January 8, 1884 to James Poey Beard and Nancy Ann Bingham Beard in Williamson Co., Texas East of present day, Granger, Texas.

Married Annie Maude Bryan on 14 Nov 1905 at Stile's Switch, now known as Thrall, Williamson Co, TX.

Robert C. Beard, Father Of Local Resident; Passes

Funeral services for Robert C. Beard, 86, of Granger, father of a local resident, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Granger, with the Rev. T.E. Pennington officiating. Burial was in the Granger City Cemetery. Mr. Beard, grandson of the first settler of Granger, died Saturday morning in a Taylor hospital. He was a retired farmer, and after his retirement was employed by the Granger Cotton Oil Mill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Beard; five daughters, Mrs. Louie (Edna) Steglich of Bartlett, Mrs. Rowena Johnson, Mrs. Winnie Tidwell, Mrs. Ivy Maude Smith and Mrs. Myrtle Zett, all of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Modesette and Mrs. Mae Spiars, both of Granger, and Mrs. Bernice Durant of Cleburne; two brothers, Colonel A. Beard of Rockdale and Earl Beard of Cleburne; eleven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A daughter, Margaret Louise Beard, died previously. Pallbearers were Robert L. Steglich, Michael D. Tidwell, Reagan A. Smith, James C. Tidwell Jr., Frank David Zett, Mark Zett, Glen Smith and James Tittle.
