90-year-old Dolores Jean Young of McLeansboro, died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, August 12 at her residence. She was employed by Elders Shirt Factory and also worked at McLeansboro High School Cafeteria for 10 years. Dolores loved quilting, crocheting, sewing and word search. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 106 and the Eagles Auxiliary 2699. Dolores was a member of Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church.

She was born on January 5, 1931 in Thompsonville to Don French and Emma (Johnson) French. She married William "Bill" Young on April 21, 1950 in Morganfield, Kentucky. He passed away March 17, 1994.

Survivors include two daughters: Marilyn Jean Heimer and Donna Kay Dedrick of McLeansboro; three sisters: Shirley Ann Hollister of Port Byron IL, Barbara Charlene Childers of Mt. Vernon IL, and Carolyn Sue Daniels of McLeansboro; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her dog Holly also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, and brothers Harold and Leroy French.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 16 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro with burial to be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating.
